anyone consider, plan and/or do a mini SUP Surf trip around the world? about 4-5 months and somewhat budget trip.
i am thinking to hit australia, new zealand, indonesia, south africa, other africa?, portugal, for sure looking for suggestions as this would my chance to hit out of the way off the beaten path places!
planning to list places, the best time of year for each and then find a path that makes sense.
talk to me!
Sounds like a plan....
Each region will have it's best swell window.
Here is the WSL event schedule, which is one indicator of good seasons to surf event areas.

Of course, they are looking for big, serious swell, so maybe a bit later than the event windows will offer good surf in those areas.
OR:
Plenty to explore out there if you leave the regular tropical path.
Bring a wetsuit and go cold!
Less crowds, great waves
Nova Scotia & Newfoundland Sept - October
Alaska
Ireland
If you come to New England, USA... Sept - November, I'll steer you to some great areas.
Weather is good Sept & Oct, with good swells
Water is not too bad, but you'll need a wetsuit.
Paddle on,
Great quest. Check out Netflix " Under an Arctic Sky". One of the most beautiful surf travel documentaries I have watched. Very cool! It will get you stoked for travel for sure. These guys are inspirational.
