Hi guys,
I'm looking for an old Starboard 6'6 impossible from the years 2010-2012..
Thinking to modify for Hydro?
Does anyone have one that want to get rid of?
Do you think will work good with an Hydro?
Will be in Perth area in 2 weeks.
Ciao Jankie
Yeah it will work but be a pig to paddle onto waves and that big nose will pick up wind a lot . You simply don't need that excess width in the board. But on small glassy days it will work fine .
My main foiling buddy uses an Impossible with a Go Foil Kai and he is the best foiler around where I live.
Tons of float for his 75 kgs.
It was a bit of a joke at first. We got the board for free. Nobody wanted it.
But now I realize it might be the closest old production SUP to modern foil designs.
It shares many similarities with my Blue Planet Easy Foiler...
Short. Softer rails. Wide point forward. Flat rocker that turns up quickly at the thick nose.
I probably would have agreed with Piros if I hadnt seen it in action. But it works for sure. I'm embarrassed to say it, but the best performance near me is happening on that board.
Piros is right about stronger offshore winds and foiling... It might feel a bit like the brakes are on.
If you can get one really cheap, do it...
