We stayed at the Novotel which is about 15 mins away down a VERY bumpy road, this takes you to Gerupuc village where you pick a boat up, cost for the morning was about $30 -$40 for the morning.

The head man in town was a chap call Ali Barbar, make a friend of him as he knows everyone and has several boats, plus his brother owns two of the surf shops and his nephew is the local photograther (called Mhemet) you get the idea :-)

Novotel is great and probably a 4* certainley not 5* foods OK and beer cheap. Best bet at the moment is to go mid week, its soooo much cheaper (sun - fri).

The Kuta Beach Village accommodation is pretty basic from what I saw and definetly sub 1* !!!!! a few good dinners though which was a pleasant suprise.

Hello there,
you can rent some SUP board in the Kuta area:
www.facebook.com/Lomboksurfsupkite

If you fly to Lombok directly with Air Asia also can bring SUP or if you ferry from Bali.
Merpati flights from Bali will not take them as they are small planes.
Hope this can help.
Ciao for now.
