Heading up to Harrington tomorrow and seeing if anyone knows of any decent surf spots???.
Never sure what the reception of a sup will be heading into a new break.
If you cant get a wave there, come up to Lennox.
Always happy to have more SUPs here, the more the merrier
Hoogie, I haven't been in that area for years. But I have been SUPping in other areas of the north coast.
I find that giving respect earns respect.
I have not had one issue anywhere. I stay back for a while and get a few leftovers or smaller ones. Then I gradually move around.
I think that if you don't hassle or take everything coming you won't have any problems.
Beautiful area up there, enjoy.

Yeah come to Lennox,go out at the boat channel there's a group of guys riding mats and longboards out there, that just love standups.
I've surfed all my life, so I've got the surf etiquette sorted. It's more dealing with tools out the line up, I also respect local spots and I'd rather enjoy riding waves then getting hostile. Lennox would be sweet but sounds like I'd need to take my shorty out.
Crowdy head looks like a sweet spot.
Hoogie I holiday at Harrington every Easter - which is max busy(ok Christmas might be busier).
Crowdy is your spot, never had any issues there (well except when I bopped a longboarder on the head but seriously he paddled in front of me and that was when i was a real kook
)
You will find a pretty friendly crew of locals who go out most days and if you can drive up the beach i find 5 or 10 mins you will find a break to yourselves.
Enjoy

I just spent 5 days at Crescent Head last week and it was awesome can go for a flatwater paddle up the creek and then down and straight out into the surf.
google says 1.5 hrs drive harrington to crescent head. if you have a fourby you can head from crescent to port mac via the 4x4 rd and/or the beach through the nat park.
Crescent was my family trip growing up, love that place, some awesome surf memories there, haven't been for a few years though. Not sure how I'd go on the sup out the point, it's human soup as it is. Should probably go back back sometime, just out of holidays maybe..
Last week it was pretty small, but not many out there, was 4 at the point and that included my Father in law and his 2 mates. more guys further north on the beach and quite a few sup's. we left on Sat and was a constant stream of campers into the caravan park.. best part was the kids loved it, the misses loved it and i loved it, we are going back end of Nov for 5 days instead of going to diamond head.
There is way better waves around further south u would be looking for people to surf with! creso is such a zoo fun yes but why bother
Delicate and race course have some awesome surf. We surfed there a lot when it got to crowded in crescent. Do you know of many SUPs getting out at plumber?

Cool, I'm there with bells on and my new arnis paddle!

Pretty relaxed up that way. Heaps of long empty beaches with great fishing and all else that comes with it. Probably can't say the same about my up and coming SUP conquest of Lennox Headland?

Hey, go for a drive up to Crowdy Head. No bottle shop = no tools. Sly right on some conditions plus the chance of a peaceful surf up the bay. Forget the high profile breaks an just relax?
