I have just brought a Sunova "Style". I don't want to cover the timber finish with wax. What would be the best invisible traction for the front 3rd of the deck (the rest has a normal traction pad on it). Wanting enough traction to nose ride the board.
Thanks.
Yep agree with others #caseclosed
Not quite Hoppo, for us $ challenged Gorrilla grip from Bunny's About $10 a can, I have been using it for years! Similar to monster grip from years ago, drys clear and doesn't yellow with time can apply it thick or thin! 1 can will do a 10 longboard style sup no problem ,only hassle you have to mask up for a neat finish ![]()
Another similar to Hexatraction (which also gets my vote) is Van der Waal. I have it on my 10ftr and it works great!

And for those that are covid paranoid
JAW doesn't mean wear a mask, he's referring to masking tape.![]()
Hexatraction is the best grip I have tried for the front of SUPs:
- the most transparent solution
- one of the lightest (the lightest being GNT: Grip n' Traction, but it is not transparent)
- sufficient grip for the front of a SUP (but not enough for prone surfing, for this Wax Mat is king)
- easy to remove (e.g for reselling), unlike spray-on grips
- durable (I bought a used board with Van der Walls v3, the hexagons were falling apart: the grip layer was falling off the base layer)
- not too aggressive on the skin (The Van der Walls v2 would make you bleed easily)
