Hydration back packs

Hey guys I have recently been getting into longer distance ocean paddling and have found myself dying of thirst and whilst standing on water that you can't drink is frustrating. So I'm looking for a decent hydration back pack so I can stay out longer. Any advise would be great. Cheers

But if your into paddling 30-50km like Molokai 2 Oahu, Pai'lolo channel or Brunswick to Currumbin Alley you'll need to put an extra bottle on the back

Cheers for the helps lads. What is it with paddle boarding and having a million options with everything. That camelpak octain looks good but so do they all. Does anybody run with the ion ones do they get hot ???. Downwinder if I ever do the Brunswick to currumbin alley I will need one of those neverfail bottles strapped to my back.

Hey Moyzie I think the one DJ is using is the camelback Tahoe it's 1.5 L I'm looking at the camelback octane at the momentots 3 L will probably sort me out 4 a while I reckon. Has anyone used the new camelbak Molokai ??? Seems like it would do the job as we'll.

Yes it takes around 4h 15m to 5h 30m depending on conditions I have a mate drive my jet-ski when I paddle that run as you see some big sharks out there.

That's a long way man !!!!!!! I used to do a lot of paddle surfing in between Pottsville and kingscliffe seen some big Noah's out there !!! Good spot tho.

I have a few different hydration packs.. Actually a few waist type and a few chest type.. I much prefer the waist type and not have any straps around the shoulders.. But if I need as much as three ltrs I use the back pack type.. My latest waist type shown in my vid only has a fairly small bladder (1-1 1/2 ltrs I think) and because there's space for a waist type PFD to fit inside you could easily remove that and put a second bladder in there if needed.. I find that my small standard set up is plenty good for our 1-1 1/2 hr DWer.. Easy good for a couple of hours on a hot day.. Carry any more and if it's not needed it's just extra weight.. IMO.. Camelbak is the best brand in hydration packs and well worth the little extra that they cost.. My latest one is so cumfee I forget that it's even there.. I never feel like that with a back pack type..
