Hey guys I have recently been getting into longer distance ocean paddling and have found myself dying of thirst and whilst standing on water that you can't drink is frustrating. So I'm looking for a decent hydration back pack so I can stay out longer. Any advise would be great. Cheers
Cool vid mate u make getting on those runners look easy. I will have a look at those camelpaks they look the go.
also look at Vestpac (available widely in OZ)
www.vestpac.com/
and the ION hydration packs
www.ion-products.com/water/men/accessories/technical-accessories/hydration-bag-sup/
and the lightweight octane camelbak packs for adventure running are good for SUP (way more comfortable IMO than their SUP-specific packs like teh Baja)

I've got one like DJ's - super comfy. I often don't worry about the bladder and just chuck in a couple of bottles. Still comfy.
Cheers for the helps lads. What is it with paddle boarding and having a million options with everything. That camelpak octain looks good but so do they all. Does anybody run with the ion ones do they get hot ???. Downwinder if I ever do the Brunswick to currumbin alley I will need one of those neverfail bottles strapped to my back.
I went and bought a cheaper version of the camel pack it has a back pack pouch bigger than the camel packs I use to use it back in my meter reading days from disposals. But it's bladder was not a really nice looking thing after a year so I would recommend spending the extra few dollars and getting a camel pack.. they have a much easier to clean bladder and also a lot stronger bladder too.
How many litres does your bum bag hold DJ ?
Hey Moyzie I think the one DJ is using is the camelback Tahoe it's 1.5 L I'm looking at the camelback octane at the momentots 3 L will probably sort me out 4 a while I reckon. Has anyone used the new camelbak Molokai ??? Seems like it would do the job as we'll.
Hey mate do u actual paddle from Brunswick to the ally ???????
Yes it takes around 4h 15m to 5h 30m depending on conditions I have a mate drive my jet-ski when I paddle that run as you see some big sharks out there.

That's a long way man !!!!!!! I used to do a lot of paddle surfing in between Pottsville and kingscliffe seen some big Noah's out there !!! Good spot tho.
Just like everything with this sport I'm going 2 need 2 or 3 of everything all for different conditions and my own capabilities so will probably just get both haha. Just gotta get it passed the bean counter ( wife ) will be sweet. Cheers for the help lads
Torpedo 7 has the Tahoe and Molokai packs on sale for around half price with free shipping www.torpedo7.com.au
Not affiliated - this thread reminded me how much I hated my current hydration pack so I went looking. Tahoe was $55 with free shipping.
