Good Morning Dingo Dude!
Scrap work.... go paddling ![]()
Creeky! I need no encouragement!!!
This weekend my friend - the tides are good and I'll be out there. The custom Revo should be here late November - just in time for the monsoon swells!!!

not a bad spot mate!
Cheers Hoppo - yeah, it was a pretty sweet walk in this morning man. I thought - geez, I might have to share this with the Breeze crew. This is inside Darwin harbour - little area called Doctor's Gully. Where we surf is outside the harbour - out on the ocean.
No waves here - just plenty of crocs though!
Thanks, it was not bad at all here. Your work commute is a dream.
I was in Darwin a long time ago, showed up with a surfboard. The customs guys wished me luck with that, watch out for the crocs and jellyfish. Could not find the waves. Did find the casino for some '2 up'.
Yea! Today was a great day.
Morning Oki!
Hey man / do you know the tune 'Going Back to Okinawa' , by Ry Cooder?
Its an absolute classic - always think of it when I read your posts. Makes me wanna pack up, leave it all behind and go and sit on the beach all night partying with the Okinawans

Morning SurfinJ
Classic yarn - yeah I can just imagine the looks on the customs dudes / would've thought you're either mad or lost - or both!
A round of 2 up is always interesting for a bit of a laugh. Did you have a 'toss' -and manage to walk away with a few extra dollars ?
We still get those same looks today
have a great day man!
I was waiting for a Croc to rush you the way you were panning around, you know Linda Kowaski/Paul Hogan style??

HA! No, but I do now. The melody is based on a traditional folk song. I doubt many of my friends have heard it, either. Thanks for the intro!

Morning Dave - yeah man - it can get a bit sketchy. It's funny sometimes you can get a strange vibe in the water eh - and things feel a bit suss. The last time that happened we did end up with a fairly large reptile in the lineup. Needless to say it was a pretty swift and nimble paddle in!

Cool as! That's interesting the melody's a traditional tune - it's not surprising as Ry Cooder is an absolute legend and has always explored traditional 'non-western' melodies and music - Buena Vista Social Club and Talking Timbuktu with Ali Farka Toure - and blends it all with a healthy dose of doffing the hat to blues influence.
The whole Get Rhythm album is great - it's one of my feel-good summer records.
I'm booking my flight Oki! ![]()

Mango you mad man! You carry a knife? ![]()
I was up there about 5 years ago, fishing with my old man in Mary River in Winter, he told me all the rules etc..but not to worry too much as it was Winter and we may not see many - I lost count in the first 2 hours of being on the water. One huge one in particular rattled me, genuine Dinosaur
Wild and beautiful country up there though, I can feel the warmth in the vid - epic!

Nice! Yea, I'm Ry fan, as well as several of my friends. No one knew about this song.

Hey Sou'wester! Nah man - don't pack any heat on the water (mind you, it's probably not a bad idea now you mention it). Strap the old shiv to the ankle for a bit of emergency pacifying if needed. Knowing my luck though, I'd come off the board on a flat day and end up with it hanging out of my ankle or elbow or something ridiculous and have to do the walk of shame to Darwin hospital and try to explain myself! ![]()

Dude - the Mary system has more crocs per square metre than anywhere on earth! - or something ridiculous like that. A young fella was taken a few years back in the Mary - a bunch of crew were partying and he tried to swim to the other side and didn't make it - really awful. Would've been a classic trip to do with your old man - it's such mind-blowing country eh. Well next time you head to the Territory, make sure you chuck a board on the plane and we'll go and grab a few.
Sounds like you've been snagging a few good ones over your way mate - great stuff! Still seems to be a few Noah's getting around - how's the vibe over your way?
Good onya Mango, keeping the spirit alive! Think I heard about the bloke who swam across, heavy.
I felt like I was bottom of food chain putting around there in a small boat. I didn't leave the middle of the boat for anything all day ![]()
Had some fun waves lately, was a good winter too!
Yep they are around in more numbers this time of year down here, I can't speak for everyone but it's a heavy vibe for me with recent attack, always makes me stop for a bit.
At least ours don't have legs and hide in the bushes!
