Hi all you "Surf Style" Intermediate plus Paddleboarders.
We want you to compete in our " FUN" SUPjAM happening on Sat & Sunday 16/17 November 2013
at Philip park Seaworld drive GOLD COAST. (Opp. Hogs Breath)
It is part of our 2nd Annual KITEjAM Competition, staged for kiteboarders when the wind kicks in usually at lunchtime,
so prior we run a "SUP comp. "
Most of our Kiters are pretty good "Surf Style" Paddleboarders, but we want others to join in.
At present we have 14 of our Kiters registered to compete in the "SUPjAM only" (10 last year, it was a hoot!)
and we will limit the numbers to 30 for this year.(10 SUPers out x 6 sessions over 2 days, 7th = Finals)
We start on the Saturday and Sunday mornings, letting you score points for each individual session.
Like our Kitejam, the format is casual, you get your numbered vest and "head out and show off."
Only one sheet with the highest score out of 100 points is submitted for you to gain entry into Finals.
(ie show for one session on Sat score 80 points, one on the Sunday scoring at 60 points,
then the 80 is submitted OR just show on ONE DAY and hope that is a High score!)
The judges are a mix of 6 Randomly picked, "non Suping Kiters", (but good surfers too) that are handed scoresheets.
Based on last year, the most outstanding, best maneuvers, entertaining, smooth transitions, good looking, dazzling trick, etc etc rider gets the best points. This is a FUN event, Judges decision is final.
IF YOU ARE A SERIOUS STAND UP PADDLEBOARDER THIS COMP IS NOT FOR YOU! (unless you want for Fun!)
You can register online pay the $30 entry fee and secure a guaranteed spot,
or show up on the day and hope our number count is 29!
Entry will also give you access to our extra activities, hospitality tent, drinks at the Lifesavers club Sat nite, etc etc
There is also a little bit of paperwork/waivers to sign on arrival, and you receive complimentary membership
to our new affiliated "Sup Jam Club"
Oh, did we mention the prizes for 1st 2nd and 3rd.....CASH!!!........$300, $200 and $100 respectively!
