Here's another quick vid I made up today of the 2014 Naish Hokua LE 8'10" and the 2014 Mana GT 8'5".

Surf was super nice, really nice to ride both boards back to back.

Enjoy,

JB

SUPerb! Thanks. Very smooth and especially like the backhand surfing. You made either board look good.

Unreal JB unfortunately I'm 15......... 15 kegs too heavy and 15 years to old. I've put on nearly 12 kgs since the hip op. But I reckon physically I've dropped 15 years of suppleness. I've done two Flatwaters on the 12'6" MC 2013 Jav Glide. Magnificent beast , didn't fall in because I've got feeling and touch back in the crook hip. Inevitably, therefore I had to go for a Sup surf today, strong crosshore, 5 weeks ago tommorrow from the full hip replacement. YEEEEWWWWWW. No pain, and heaps of touch just had to be careful when standing. . I didn't push trying to be upright and just let myself fall. Hopefully in a couple of years time I will be light enough and have regained some of the skills to surf your small boards and do them justice. (You rip BTW. So now my quiver will be one 12'6"Naish race/downwind board, one 9'2" Allwave all rounder(wind surf option) and a Laguna bay 8'10" custom, higher performance board. Thanks for all your advice JB, but I nearly completely sank the 8'10" 132 litre Mana. I promised myself that I was going to get a custom next board, but the 8'5" Mana is such a beautiful shape I thought maybe? but lets face it at nearly 56 I really am only surfing for myself. Thanks again for all your advice. Nearly everybody I (That's not a Fanatic team rider) know want's one. . My prediction is that you'll have a house in Vaucluse by the end of this season!!! LOL Cheers and thanks again, Naish is lucky to have someone as knowledgeable and passionate about supping you as their distributor.
Cheers and thanks Leroy

Thanks for the props Leroy,

Kenny, It's a tough one. The Mana is just so fun. The Hokua clearly out performs it on a good wave, but in 90% of we actually ride, I think the Mana has the upper hand. I do love that Hokua LE though, man she is nice on a sweet wave.

Hi Mick, RPS has the 2013 8'10". Same board as this year just a different graphic according to Warwick. The 8'5" is the new design and they are a couple of weeks away. I couldn't stand up on it for long but it seemed to have good manouverability. Matt nearly bought ithe's 90-95 kg and he didn't have any problems. He was turning it on a dime in the flatwater. The 8'5"s are a couple of weeks away.

Hi Leroy I have the new 8.5 Mana and love it to bits
had it for two weeks and its the best I have ridden to date.
surfed in 2foot up to 6 foot so far and it has excelled all my expectations !!!!!!!
went from 8.10 widepoint to this board, little less unstable but surfs so much better
a winner imo.
cheers webbo

Hi JB
I'm 86kg and currently riding a 2011 8'5 Hokua.
But find it a bit unstable in choppy water.
How does that compare stability wise to the 8'10 Le?
Thanks . Glenn

Hi Glenn, I have 8 5 Hokua and at 76 kg I have now twice had a demo of 8 10 Le Hokua in almost no waves with back wash plus close to head high wave faces.

I found the 8 10 Le a little more stable but overall for me not worth a change

Just another comment I also felt the 85 caught waves a little quicker, would cover a wider range of surf however on the right wave type the 8 10 would be excellent, it has a bit more rocker which seems to be almost continuous

Nice soundtrack, edit, waves and fluid moves JB...

Great to get your take on the 2 boards - working an order now for core boardsports and looks like the new Mana the way to go for our surf coast vic conditions.

That's interesting mate. I thought the whole mana line had been given a facelift ..... that's what they seem to be saying on the website. Confusing! Thanks for the info.

Hey Mick,

The whole Mana range was given a full facelift. The first board was the addition of the 8'10" around Nov/Dec last year (which is still current due to it's late release), and now the addition of the 8'5" along side the full revamp of the 10' & 9'5". More surfy rails, lower volume tails, and pulled in noses.

Regards,

JB
