Fitness Paddles
There is a group of people interested in fitness with SUP and for this reason we are keen for the club to be a meeting spot where by people can arrange to paddle together during the week. As the coast is a large area there are people in the south, middle and north. I know one group is starting with fitness at 5:30am on Tuesday and Thursday at Kawana Boat Ramp, another group is keen to start at the Maroochydore River and I guess there would be a number keen in Caloundra. This will all be discussed at the first club day.
Sunday Arvo Paddle
For a number of weeks now we have had a small group doing a Sunday Arvo distance paddle. Sometimes short 3km and sometimes much longer depending on the wind. If you are interested please check the forum on Seabreeze on Saturday arvo or Sunday lunch to find out where from to where to.
Cheers
Swanie

Missed you guys this morning, 5:15 is just to early for me, it was pitch black! lol.
Myself and a few others did a slightly later Fitness paddle sesh in the Maroochy river from 7am we finished off with a little surf out on the bar. By that stage my arms were about to fall off but it was still so much fun catching small runners on the 14footer.
We will be doing these kind of mornings regularly up here in the Maroochy river. Just so we dont clash the days we will do Monday and Wednesday mornings so from 6:30am to 8am meeting in the park area just next to the swiming pool.
If your keen to get fit and paddle hard please feel free to join us.
Luke
It was dark when we started but a great way to start. Sue's session was a good one. We will be doing it again on Thursday at the same time. Meet at 5:15am and start at 5:30am at the boat ramp Kawana near Labalsa Park. It was good to meet a new paddler today.
Join in. The more the merrier. Hardest thing to do is get out of bed.![]()
I would love to do the session at Maroochydore and will as work time allows.
Come holidays (and teachers get a couple) I have a bit more freedom to paddle later in the day. At the moment it is the early hours week days, Saturday with woogies Paddle Fit Group at Noosa (great session for anyone interested in learning from one of the most knowledgable paddlers, highly recommend and worth the drive up there) and Sunday arvo for for a Downwinder.
I hope we get a fair few at the club day. It is not a one shop club and was never one last year when the same people were involved. It is just to hopefully get a group of like minded people together to have a bit of fun once a month in a little comp and maybe assist a few people on the coast to get to know others in a friendly social way. Definitely helps form friendships and paddle / surf groups. If some are thinking that, then they need to come along with a positive attitude and enjoy the day for what it is before spruking an incorrect opinion.
The club welcomes companies to bring along demos so that members can have a go on what they are reading about in forums without any salesman hat on by the person providing demos. This however does not mean that they can not fly their flag / banner amongst their demo gear. They will also be acknowledge on the day. This is how it was with the comps that were on last year and it was appreciated by all who attended.
Comp ideas are:
Expression session
Normal comp with heats
Team comp
BOP Style
The choice depends on the conditions the day throws at us and also the feedback given by the members. It would be great to build up numbers for some team comps.
I am hoping to get a group to go in the inter club challenge organised by Noosa Beach Boys Club. So far there is the Gold Coast And Noosa and we are invited if we have a group. This will be discussed Sunday.
