Hi all,

Appologies if this has already been asked. Just wondering if anyone can help me with my 2022 Fanatic Allwave which has the Multibox fin system. I am wanting to purchase some fins like the Everly MR 6" fins but am not sure if this will work with the grub screws given there is not a solid fin base to screw into. I am not allowed to post photos or links yet so sorry about the lack of information. FCS fins do not fit with the location of the screws in the multibox. Does anyone have any experience with using any futures fins in the Allwave that are the type of skeletonized or truss base construction? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

It's Futures but you obviously can't use the skeletonise base without filling all the holes up (easy but I can do for u if you wish)

Thanks for the offer Mark but I am over in Victoria. I was worried that might be the case, but was wondering if the screws lined up and went straight through the holes and into the base of the fin (pinning it to the box) if that would work. Would need some longer grub screws. Wondering if anybody had done something like that or if it would it be too much load on the box or simply break the base of the fin. Thanks.

That would work no problem I have all different screws for that reason
just be careful - are they imperial #10-24 like all surf boxes - or M5 as some SUP and WS stuff can be

if u can fit a 2.5mm Allen key in easily it's the latter

eBay is great for getting them in a variety of lengths

Thanks Mark. Incidently I just pulled the fins out today after a surf as I haven't done so for a while and found what appears to be holes on the sides of the fin box. There appears that some of them have had an attempt to be filled but some have not. Can't believe I didn't notice this before. Had a look at the Doutone site for their multibox and they appear to be a solid piece of plastic. Can't see why there would be a need for holes on the opposite side of the grub screws. Still not allowed to post photos yet so might be a bit difficult to picture. Something to be wary of with the multiboxes.

Photos are now loading, there are a few of them. The angle makes it look like the holes are opposite the grub screws, but the are not, they are slightly off centre. The ones that are not sealed, which are most of them, are soft to touch so I am assuming is foam. They appear very obvious now but don't recall this from even about a month ago when I took a fin out. The holes are in a slight rebate so am going to get some epoxy and seal them up. A bit concerning.
