As elite Sup surfing dies a slow death in Australia & New Zealand, South American sup surfing seems to be on the rise.
i came across a event in Mexico that has a total prize pool of $10,000 US.
full professional event set up, invitational too.
great to see that youthful energy and commitment coming out of South America.
there's something to be said about South American and real passion.
Where are Australian or New Zealand SUPs young leaders???
Been kind of saying it for a while.
The once sponsored crew are no where to be seen, packed up and left the sport. Can't blame them!
not much opportunity! But in saying that.
band together and create opportunities.
With epic events like the ISA, Panpacs and probably other awesome events supporting elite level stand up paddling going on around the globe whether it's surfing or racing.
Australia & New Zealand are seriously losing out and the sport is slowly disappearing.
gotta admit Australia has some epic events out on by the sup clubs, New Zealand only has the Taranaki classic each February and now my own event.
just a thought.
who cares.
not me anymore.
