I am looking for a dual use SUP and would like suggestions from people.
I weight 85KG and am 5,11 I want to use the board for small waves as well as exploring lakes.
would also like to use the board with my Zepher for some light wind cruzing.
not really looked in to SUP boards yet so any suggestions would be great.
Tim
The biggest problem with SUP is that you have to paddle the bloody thing. I use a tinny and an outboard to explore lakes, and only ever use a SUP in surf where you can at least have some fun with waves carrying you in. But I didn't spend $800+ on a SUP board, but $50 on a windsurf board. It still works. Though ive never tried it behind a kite, I think the trickiest thing would be turning. The kite will turn much quicker than you can turn the board so it will just pull you off. (Just my theory)
Hi Tim,
I've got an ECS Inception model for sale at the moment (also in ACT) - its 9'11" x 34", so nice & stable on the flats, but also still surfs well.
Some pics on the link below, let me know if you want any further detail.

I have a Zepher and 6 other kites plus 2 SUPs (9'8" and 14'.5") so I know a bit about this.
If you are talking really small waves you want a long board. Cruising lakes - really long board.
But for Kiting then the long boards are just far too unwieldy.
For really light stuff I use the 9'8" and a 10M or 12M kite.
My main use of the sup would be small waves on no wind days and paddling around the lake to keep fit.
on super light days it would be good to have some fun like the vid below
Naish Nalu 10'6". Spent some hours this arvo in what could have been labelled either flat water or waves. Guaranteed fun.![]()

10'6" Nalu or 10'6" fanatic Fly All-round. The all-round being more sable and more vol, however the Nalu will kite a little nicer with more refined, lower-set rail. You'll be fine turning it!
Hi guys,
Thanks for the replies got A chance to demo a Naish Nalu 10'6 at the weekend, had a lot of fun paddling round in no wind.
the wind did pick up a bit but didn't have a kite with me,
the rails do deem to be lower set than some other SUP boards I have look at an it was pretty easy to sink the rail so it should be ok for some fun in light wind,
has anyone had any specific experience kitting with one, ??
would be nice to get some tips
Pardon my ignorance but I guess a Zepher is some sort of kite.Is it any different to other kites?Secondly the Renault moke jeep type vehicle in the clip was fantastic ,where can I get one.Yeah I know France ,Tunisia ,nowhere around here
Nalu sounds a good choice for the bit of everything you like to do.
