Another very enjoyable afternoon - thanks for organising. It was more hard work than last week but I also had some time to look around while paddling, watch you guys and learn a bit about more efficient downwind paddling - thank you! It was also great to meet more ladies who are into SUP paddling :-)
The breeze wasn't your "perfect DW' breeze ( 10 - 12 kn SW ) but you wouldn't of known that at the finish. The 20 paddlers were all buzzing at Swannie ! Or was that because of the abundance of icy cold bevys thanks to Ianontour, Mocka and Stimo ?
Thanks must go to the sweepers of the newbies, Kevin and Jenkz - great effort boys.
Once again we had a heap of first timers on the day - one was Bulldog from the East coast - great to have you along mate, and let your crew back home know that if they are in the West they are always welcome.
A couple of others deserve a very special mention. Mrs Chickenstix, Mrs Jenkz, KM and AL all did the paddle for the first time, and all did extremely well. For Mrs C it was her first ever DW, and now she is so hooked, I fear for my (our??) DC 14.
Ahh well, might have to start looking for another 14 !!??
Until next week ........
( Wednesday arvo is looking great though )
Seriously sore and acutely aware of my own lack of fitness BUT, you've got to start somewhere and I'm firing for the next one. Thanks a HEAP to Lach and Sally for organising the board, for Kevin for hanging with me at the back the whole way and for everyone else for being so welcoming. Great to be out there with others. Many thanks for all the organisation and roll on the next one. Kylie
Thanks everyone. I went home feeling very stiff and tired but happy. Unfortunately I won't be able to make the next two weeks but hope to be back the week after.
