A few months ago now I wrote on SM that I would be looking to restructure Core due to a rapidly changing market dynamic across the SUP, Windsurf and Kitesurf Industry that put huge pressure on individual 'bricks and mortar' retailers to keep their doors open (especially in our cooler southern climate) ! Today it gives me great pleasure to announce that Core is back in business bigger and better than ever thanks to the Owners at SHQ Boardsports (Hudson Fletch and Trent) kindly offering to bring Core and myself into their business as a part owner. What this means is that the SHQ group now covers 3 retail premises the flagship SHQ Sandringham store the Mornington Peninsula Rosebud store and now Core looking after Geelong the Surf Coast and Bellarine Peninsula! With by far the largest inventory in Vic we can now service customers around the Bay through the 3 strategically located stores. That means More Stock More top Brands and better deals. In addition to Fanatic, North, Goya, Quatro, Black Project and Infiniti we now add JP, Sunova, Coreban and the iconic SIC to our SUP range and Cabrinha Kites to our Kite range to name a few. We will be organising several events in the next couple of months to kick things into gear ... the famous SHQ Sandy Point weekend is on Melb Cup weekend for Windsurfers and SUPers, Get Stoked at Eastern Beach IV SUP race is schedule for the 20th Nov including a huge demo of all SUP brands and a summer season party at Core will be announced shortly. As someone who has owned their own business and knows the pressure that comes with that business all I can say is, well done, good for you and keep on looking for better business opportunities as you have just done in order to survive a tough market!!!
