christies beach in SA has a reef that breaks about 500m out to sea. Looks ideal for sup surfing. Im keen to give it a go but worry it may be very shallow.... Anybody had a go on this wave ?

I have heard its quite good, never surfed it myself though,
If thats working, that means breaks further south are also pretty good and more accessable,
Yes but it will have no crowds as to far out for prone surfers to paddle and I was wondering if it works on smaller days.

I don't know the break but the most important feature is no crowds and being able to paddle into the best waves ![]()
Suggest paddle there on low tide and flat day.
never seen a rideable wave there, but thats not to say their are not any. There are still big noahs in the bay area so be careful, you tried down neaar victor harbour its sure is close now with the new freeway.

I have surfed it half a dozen times. Its fun wave. Bit of a novelty wave. Worth the paddle tho, especially to avoid the crowds. I would probably surf it more if I lived near there but I live at Moana so I've got to drive past about 10 spots to surf it. Its better on mid to high tide and the reef isn't too bad, Lots of weed covering it. I've taken my kids out and didn't feel worried about them. Go for it.
