Hey Guys,

As part of the North Queensland Games being held in Mackay in June, we will be running the first SUP event in North Queensland. I have just posted this event on the events section as well, but wanted to have an open discussion about this event.

The event is open to all competitors Nationally and Internationally as it closely follows the Hamilton Island Cup. The Pioneer River is generally flat water, tidal and wind affected, and is our SUP fitness training ground.

For us to run this event to its potential, we would like to know who would be interested in attending. This info is needed to plan accommodation and venue options as this will be tight on that weekend because of the 1000's of other people attending all sports through out that week. Our aim is to make this an event not to miss, with a large prize pool and a festival of activities to help promote the sport, and the region. Your input is very welcome, but your attendance is needed!!

Dates : June 23 - 24th
Location : Mackay Qld
Event : SUP Race short and Long course races, possible sprints as well. STREET SUP race.

Thanks
Joe Millen

Being June (winter) their not as active.

No but seriously it's not a big deal in the river, some smaller estuary's further north there have been sightings, but our river is beautiful that time of year.
