2011 will see the Cook-Islands become the new Stand Up Paddle Hotspot with "Walk on Water Week" a celebration of Stand Up Paddleboarding - the worlds fastest growing sport.
August 16-20th, 2011 - Cook Island Surf Princess, adventure and explorer Charlotte Piho with Celebrities will step from the sands of the iconic Muri Lagoon in Rarotonga for the Official Launch of Walk on Water week. Termed "Celebrity Dash" top local female celebrities including Miss Cook Islands Aingara Gosselin and Triathlon Champion Kelly Pick will team up with Travis Grant in a relay style race of Beauty versus Braun. Reuben Dearlove -Cook Island Canoe/Vaka Eiva Champion and New Zealand's Number one Beach Volleyballer Brendon Heath are expected to be the stand out performers for the men.
Festivities don't stop there. Over the course of the week Travis Grant (2011 Winner of Battle of the Paddle) will be holding daily Stand Up Paddleboard Clinics and an Exclusive Luxury Women's Stand-Up Paddleboard and Yoga Retreat.
will see the week end in a Bang. The event which encourages new paddlers to experience a non-competitive paddle - celebrates the various paddle crafts that frequent the shoes of the Cook Islands. With anything that you can humanly paddle welcomed - the race will be a fun day for everyone.
