If you tore it, rest for 13 months.

I feel your pain mate. Get a good physio. After the moonboot, rehab, rehab, rehab and then more rehab.

Oh mate- I snapped mine twice (same one). The physio suggested cycling 6 months in to rehab and it snapped again first cycle!
That's actually how I got in to paddleboarding as I couldn't surf while wearing my moonboot.. so I literally started catching waves on a sup while fully strapped in so my archilles couldn't move!

As others said, rehab is soo important. Also find a really good physio and despite how good it might feel after 3-4 months- DO NOT push it or you will break it again.
Also be really careful with getting out bed In the night to go to the bathroom etc. A lot of people have snapped theirs again when in a tired state and pinging it while getting off the bed. Get the wedge shoes (built up heel) when you are ready so that you can still work out and make sure that the archillies doesn't stretch past a certain point.

I got plantar fasciitis supping last week. Really painful for a few days. I've been able to strap it up which made a huge difference. Might have to keep it taped while supping just to keep on the safe side.

That's a savage and scary story. How does it treat you now?

First time was playing Badminton (I was a top nz player so had many years of abuse, but never any sign of weakness), then midway through the third set in a game of singles it just completely popped. My body knew it was something bad and didn't even get off the floor hah.

I got in to sup-surfing almost immediately (just strapped my foot in the moonboot with the wedge), but it's been fine ever since. First time was non-operative, second time they decided to stitch it back together. It's midly more tight than my other side but have played badminton and touch rugby for several seasons since and never any issues. But rehab is a big key- mine looks clean and straight now while I've seen other peoples that have big lumpy scar tissue bulges as they never did the rehab. The rehab also stretches it back out again and actually speeds up the recover so it's win-win, but just never push it. Find a really good Physio who knows what they're doing with them
