Riding the Bonza shortboard at the beachbreak north side of youth center. [ooking foward to the Bonza longboard arriving in abt 3 weeks. Knee surgery been put back to middle of March - elective surgery - so hopefully get a few surfs in on the new Smik!
Steve, that board seems to paddle onto waves very easily, the longboard version is going to be even better!!!![]()
The new board probably will be faster between peaks along the beach and perhaps to sprint across to a take-off point, but mainly for stability between waves, easier on the knees and generally not as tiring all round - stay out longer? Or a couple of surfs in a day? Steve![]()
How long between ordering and board arriving? I've had a board (not Smik) on order since October, latest update is mid March for delivery.
Ordered late Oct - will arrive late Feb - 4 months which includes probably 3 to4 weeks transport! I did check with Scotty at the end of Jan which was the origional arrival time, but as he explained - DUE TO COVID every thing is affected ie: material supplies, employees ( affected also by their families ), transport and links -- nothing that the manufacturer can control - just got to suck it up! Steve![]()

Hopefully I will be 3 or 4 metres further out with the new Smik - enough time to catch it instead of scraping over. Steve![]()
Update for arrival of board - apparently just being painted - not on boat ( miscommunication ), so will not arrive till after operation, seems like first paddle will be mid July! Bummer - but have the rest of my life to enjoy it - with my new knee!! Yahoo
ps - just got to suck it up!
geeprs that looks great!
