Open Warfare for Coffs in December I suspect....! Which scalps will Danny claim, and who is strong enough and tough enough to beat Danny on a SUP (or OC) in Australia (?) !!
I'm preying that I have no work to do in Mid December, and I might make a dashing trip up the coast!
PS - I really like that tail design concept on the RH14r (Ron House Fourteen'er). No necessarily the diamond, but the stated concept of running hard rails in the rear, with the concept that the hard rails are running flush with the exit water. Quite a difference to the Lahui Kai Orca & SIC F18 which run a Pin Tail, with the water reforming around the pin....
Scotty,
With the big boards, the volume doesn't become super critical... Mostly, they have enough volume to float most. Kind of like 1 size fits all. But as usually, it will not suit the super light, or the super heavy.
If super light, the rider will struggle to sink the nose sufficiently to create the "cutting through the water" effect at the nose. The super heavy will sink the nose enough, but might also over sink the tail, and create a "reverse bow wave" (if that is the term) out the back.... in-efficient water exit off the rear board.... too much drag....
I think a 14 like that would suit a rider range of 60-65kg, through to about 120kg.... very roughly. But it would be built for a prime range of about 75-95kg (maybe 70-100) I would guess.... Any thoughts anyone?
