im interested in this board. my idea of what dw board should be. ive had a couple of quick paddles in the flat on the 24".
now im hearing the nsw boys have been getting some time in on them.
how do they go.
most important - how good and how fast do they dw
Im loving mine.
The first thing you find is that you feel comfortable as soon as you jump on it.
The next best standout is how well it glides once your on a run. It still needs to be paddled into runs but if your at the level where your consistently on runs then you will be blown away by its glide. It maintains speed like you wouldnt believe making the chase to the run in front that much easier.
It does like to be surfed off the tail as you would expect as the name describes its ideal conditions. In saying that it goes surprisingly well in the flats for an ocean board.

thxs. so I guess your rating it
Yes im rating it for sure.
Admittedly my expectations before downwinding it werent that high. And even after riding it, it doesnt drop into runs the same way an ace would. However it maintains speed so well that it blew my expectations out of the water. Previously i never valued how well a board maintains speed as i would always compare to the aces ability to drop into runs by itself. But this board runs so well and having a wide tail allows you to sprint it whilst at speed without tail bobbing like pintails do. I havent got any GPS data but i feel like my average speed is allot faster then if i was on my old ace or falcon where i was allot more stop start.

that's good. its the stop/ starts that kill
dj, my sparring partner will be delighted. ive ordered a 24" maliko naish.
rjk I seen and been in races with him a couple of times. his word and my quick paddles in the ck was enough.
my best ever 14 er was the 14 tomy. could do light or heavy conditions. it was with a heavy heart when I sold this board when I was paddling some starboards.
pretty amped that this new board is the goods.
I really like the shape and the double concaves is what im currently playing with in my 12.6 designs plus im a full rail type paddlers. I like the response they give coming from a surfing background.
oh and its a board not a canoe
cheers
