Hey
Any one got one of these boards, what you think. After something quicker than my big easy but not sure if I want to go for a race board like falcon or allwater.

I've paddled both and both are great boards IMO.. The Ray is a little more raceboard'ish in shape but both are a great all-rounder flat water boards.. You should try and demo them both yourself if you can.. ![]()
I've got a Freeride and found it to be a great stable all round board for flat water ( I'm 90kgs) although I'got the Naish Glide for downwinders.
The Freeride is also reasonably quick for a 12'2" board and it is also easy to turn. The board caused more of a stir in Europe rather than here when it was first released. Johnny Maya said he had success racing on it (see past forum post 'Freeride').
It is also considerably lighter than the Fanatic Ray.
if you are around Melbourne I would be happy to give you a paddle on it.
Good luck with your decision. ![]()
Hi Kelvinpumba,

Looking at naish glide 12'6 too, may be faster but is it as stable as freeride
Just a thought.....you want a faster board than a big easy but don't want a raceboard......why not a downwinder? If you are looking at a Naish Glide then I wouldn't rule out the Open Water version of the Falcon. I use a Jimmy Lewis m14.......very stable board and fine for simply touring on the sea and if it gets rougher it is confidence inspiring. the new version has a slightly flatter rocker but plenty nose kick for downwinders. A very versatile board actually despite its intended use. I bought it because I wanted an open ocean board but something that will get me from a to b much quicker than my 11 4 Nalu which I also love to bits! If it wasn't the M14 it would be a Glide personally.
