does anyone know the diference in the 14ft race starboard, between the open ocean and the coast runner apart from what the brochure says.from what the brochure tells i think the coast runner would be more suitable for east coast qld, but please advise if i'm wrong
thanks guys
Wait for PT Woody's response. And/or PM him. He's all over the Starboard Range.
Can I also say, Paul (PT) is paddling like demon at the moment! Well done Paul.
Had my first paddle of a Coast Runner yesterday (thanks to the Morris clan who won the board at the recent Great Melbourne Paddle) and it does feel faster than the Open Ocean as you would imagine from a board with less rocker. I think it would be the more suitable board in just about any conditions except the biggest downwind situations, in which case, you would need to be quite a bit more technical in your footwork on the Coast Runner. Jonathan and Teeps were both drooling yesterday so I expect they will be placing orders soon.
I demoed the 14ft OO last week at the Cronulla demo day I was very impressed with its stability for 28 wide it was only in the bay with wind and boat chop but at 100kg I normally don't like anything under 30 wide, I'm keen to try in more open waters![]()
Yeah I paddled the 14 OO last week and was impressed with it as well, love my DC but that felt good for a narrow board
Would love to have a crack at it in a dw situation
