Hi everyone, brand new at this but was hoping that someone may be able to assist me with shipping my new purchase. I have bought a 14 foot fanatic board from Newcastle and i need it shipped to Melbourne, but preferably Echuca Vic 3564. However i can drive to Melbourne to pick it up. Obviously I would like to use a company who knows about shipping boards but not too dear. Can anybody help. Thank you.

Don't know if this works in your part of the world but using Delta Cargo Air from airport to airport is really cheap.
Boards shipped from Hawaii to Boston 225 usd. San Diego to Boston 145 usd.
I just shipped a board (8'2) from Melb to Newcastle.
The problem I had was that most of the major carriers like TNT require you to have an account number (for businesses etc).
I ended up using smart send, which basically act like a broker, and TNT got the job.
It cost $205 which included $1800 worth of insurance.
Sending boards (or anything via post) is like a lottery, it doesn't really matter which freight company you choose.
Nine out of ten times it will arrive safe and sound, but it only takes one link in the chain, (one grumpy courier who hasn't had his morning coffee) to trash your board.
Make sure you pay for the insurance.

I used e-Go 18 months ago for my 14' All-star from Adelaide to Brisbane, arrived completely unscathed. It was very well wrapped and boxed by the sender though and it was dropped off and picked up at the depot at each end. Maybe I was lucky, I think transporting anything large and fragile is always a bit of gamble, sometimes you are lucky and other times not so much.
Direct Freight Express. Not sure if they are cheap. But had great service from them. Had a paddle sent from QLD. But I missed their arrival & had it resent from their depot 100 klms away with in the day.
I get boards to Tassie using Allalong Cheap and super efficient. Never once had a problem where using Star Track EVERY board i've
got damaged
