Ask James Casey. He regularly does 29 min 5km time trials on one.............
Youre asking about the 24" wide flatwater one yeah?
Super light, very quick. A board for glassy conditions for the average paddler in my humble opinion. Top guys could handle it it in rougher stuff I'm sure(saw James doing ins n outs on it at Newport as he waited for the rest of the group to get out through the shore break)It's got a V bottom from waaaaay up front almost to the tail where it flattens out.

sounds like it might be a bit to much to handle.

The 14'x24.5'' JP Race is the quickest board I have paddled in the JPP 5km time trial. It is a flatwater board, definitely not designed for open ocean, but a bit of wind on a lake or lagoon and it is still very fast.

The only board that I have paddled that is in the same league in terms of speed is the starboard sprint, which also is tough to handle in the open ocean.

So if it is a fast flatwater board you are after I would definitely recommend the JP Race. If you are worried about it being a bit tippy probably best to get the 27'' wide.

If you are ever in Sydney and want to demo the board just let me know and I'd be more than happy to go for a paddle with you.
