Hey Spencer,
We used to do Hobie stuff and I,ve paddled the 9'10" Sumo. They have the basic same shape as the CM Ultimates with the main difference being the "Sumo Disc" standing area which has a lot of added volume and a flat standing area.
My thoughts are they are an intermediate to advanced performance surfboard for heavier riders that are looking for performance. From memory the 9'10" was about 29" wide. Stability was ok in clean conditions but required a bit of concentration if the wind got up a bit.
I weighed about 92kg at the time and it had plenty of volume and surfed well. I found it needed a decent face to get up and boogieing. A good fun board but definitely a more performance oriented board for bigger fellas looking to get a short board feel.
