hey everyone??????
was just looking for peoples opinion on major differences between these two boards???.i,m looking to scale down a little from my whopper and looks like these could be my options for my conditions , size & ability !
i attended the demo day and tried the hero & 8'2 WP..(8'10 wasn't available )???.
and from that i certainly found that the 8'2 was just a tad too short for my liking???but hero just seemed like a smaller version of whopper and was fine???.
any advice would be greatly appreciated
cheers reddog

Was looking at a hero myself but was talked out of it by the starboard rep.just had a 9'5 wide point on demo for a few days great board just need to decide on a 2013 or a 2014 version.I have tried the 8'10 but found the 9'5 fits my weight better.

yeah???cheers dean75???..
i,m keeping my whopper so the 9,5 is probably not worth it for me??????funny u say that about the rep though, cause the one i had at the demo recommended the hero over the WP ..lol

I have paddled both 2013,s and owned the first WP8.10.
basicly the Hero is a bit longboardish and easy going above al while the WP feels more sporty and surfs a bit more like a shortboard being able to turn tighter and spray more.
The wider nose of the Hero makes it more stable as the 8.10 with the pointier one, but also hinders a bit when you are making steep drops.
Its a bit comparing a family car with Golf GT. Both aren,t ""true"" agile high performance boards and imo easy accessible to pretty much anybody under the 115kg but the WP a bit more sporty (fun to me) as the Hero.
As soon as you become a better surfer the WP got bonus that it got 5 boxxes, surfing it as a uad makes it faster and more alive.
For really fast hollow waves, both are imo too thick and too wide but in Whopper conditions they will be heaps of fun.
To me the 8.10 seems to me the way to go unless you really like to noseride and doing crossteps, but in that case I wouldnt go for a Hero either but for a Noserider.

yeah..thanks for that Jeroensurf???.
i do like the fact that the WP have the quad/thruster option myself???.and yeah, where i surf 90% of time its a long boarders type of wave, hence the board choices.,,really appreciate ya feedback, i actually demo the nose rider too the other day and think i might eventually trade my whopper in for that too???..but first things first???.ha
