Hey guys, was just seeing if anyone had any info on the different types of pro surf model's?. Currently riding a coreban fusion set up as a quad, good board, but really limited in doing any type of turning. I'm 70kg, 5'7.
Had my eye on the fanatic prowave ltd 8'5.
Any info would be awesome!

Hi mate,
If I were you and especially at your weight of 70kg you could definitely look at 8'0 in all the boards. I am a cigarette butt over 6 foot but weigh 73kg and I am going to have a demo of the JP 8'2 and the Naish 8'3 Hokua LE when I get the chance. These are reputedly high performance surf boards which should suffice.
Cheers Ozzie
Hello
your about the same weight and height of Jacko who is on the FANATIC 8.0'. And my daughter is around the same again on the 8.0'.
So 8.5 wouldn't be a worry and a top board to boot.

I agree too. I also think mate you would be well inclined to look at some of the carbon models as well as there is a distinct difference in weight and overall performance with the lighter models.
Cheeers Ozzie
thanks for the info guys. Yeah thought about the 8 footers, just wasnt sure how tippy they were going to be. The naish boards look awesome and have some good reviews and the 8'3 could suit. Trying not to get too ahead of myself and go to really small litres, think I'm being a bit lazy.
Be interesting to hear how the JP go's as well.

All these boards are great, but I was probably trying to say don't go too small unless you have demo'd

Hoogie,
Bear in mind mate that there will be something of a price difference between the JP and Naish. I stand to be corrected on this but from what I have been told the JP in the 8'2 would be close to $400 more expensive than the Naish Hokua LE 8'3. At your height and weight mate you cant really go wrong. Interestingly Naish have purposely designed the 8'3 to slot in that 100lt mark which falls very much between the 90lt, which you will find the 8'0 boards to be and 109lt which the fanatic pro wave measures at. At the moment I am holding out on the JP and the Naish as I think that this year they have really nailed the short sup market. I am hoping to get a go of the Naish in the next week to demo so I will keep you posted. I will provide videos( if I can get someone to come out with me) to give you an idea of the sort of conditions it is being tested in.
Cheers Ozzie
