Thinking about moving from a 10' Mana on to a 9'6 Hokua X32. Clearly the Mana will paddle better/faster on the flat, and at 190L vs 170L has a little more volume, but can anyone provide a 'stability' comparison between the 2? Am aware the rocker on the X32 will slow it down in the flats, but from what I can find on the interwebs it's not ridiculously unstable - at 6'2 and ~115kg I'm just over Naish's recommended weight but then I think I'm over for the Mana also and handle that fine.
Thoughts & input would be appreciated.
Other option is that I keep the Mana myself and buy an Odysseus for my other half (she's keen but wants a 'stable table') but she made the fatal mistake of saying she thinks she can paddle the Mana with some practice (she can - has the balance of a cat...) so my brain went into upgrade mode...hey, it was her suggestion!!!
So in short - 9'6 X32 a realistic step from the 10' Mana at my height/weight, and intermediate on the flat / novice in small surf? ![]()
Gidday.Ive got the 9.6 Hokua .did have the mana 10'.I'm 95 kg.
The Hokua is wave board ,stability is good ..but it is a slow paddler in the flat and not really the board you'd take down for a Sunday paddle .
The 9.5 mana would be worth a look at ..less rocker and paddles a bit faster.also a good choice for the misses And yourself.
The 9.6 Hokua is a great big guys wave board .its the massive rocker line that makes it so different from the 10 mana .
have you thought about the 11' Nalu .@175 litres ...It's a nice step down from the 10'
And is a nice flat water paddler. It sounds like you need a good all rounder.

Hey Tardy - would love to go for the 11' Nalu, unfortunately storage space is an issue, and a 10' is the longest I can get in there. Point taken re. rocker being very pronounced on the Hokua - might see if I can demo one and try a 9'5 Mana as well. Thanks ![]()
