Mash-up of my summer/fall sessions, with a little James Casey riding my 9'4 mixed in, and..
Bonus round:
the "Creek" gets a little love at the Aussie Titles
This really looks a fun board, nice waves full speed and gopro head setting is perfect.
is like we are riding the waves
cheers
Great vid! Nice waves! Love watching in full-screen mode; it is like being there carving it up with you.
Sooo nice. Your custom stick rips.
And that's the nicest head cam vid I've seen yet. Usually with the head cam the board is just out of view, but you had that slight downward angle catching the nose. That really made it enjoyable as the view then made sense.
Nice one Rick!
The board is a great colab between you and the Sunova team.
It scales down amazingly well into the smaller versions. My 7'5 handles great in all size waves. Its got great hold and drive off the bottom turns (due to the channels) but still releases when you want it to.
Keep on charging mate.!
Looks like you have had an epic season!
Those waves look class, you are certainly making the most of the board, well done on a great design.
Big respect for getting out there and doing it at a more mature age, inspiration for everyone

Hi Dave
I think that you would be super happy with the 9'1 x 31 1/8 at 136 L. (1.38)
It may not sound like much of a change, but it will have a totally different feel than your current board.
My 9'4 Creek has taught me that you don't have to go too small to get awesome performance.
If you are after more challenge, you could go with the 8'10, but at 125 liters, it will be around the lower end of volume/weight ratio (1.27), so quite a big step from where you are now (1.53)
I paddled an 8'10 last week in some wonk.
At 106 kg (1.17) it was sort of manageable, but not something I'd want to do for long sessions.
I think to be comfortable, the 9'1 would be perfect for me (1.28) but...
if I get down to 98 kg by next summer, I will go for the 8'10 (1.27)
I designed my 9'4 for freezing winter gear. (1.39)
it passed the test....totally comfortable in my full winter wetsuit.
Go with what you feel comfortable with.... the performance will be there!
here's me on the 8'10 at weight/volume ratio of 1.17
I could do it.... but I fell down a lot ![]()

Thanks for the advice STC, Ive pulled the trigger and a brand new creek 9'1 is on its way to Melbourne. Cant wait to get it wet next weekend... now I just have to sell an old board!!!![]()
go Dave .what you will notice when you get on it is a lot more speed than the x 32 's i have the 8'10 flow ./130
i had the x32 8'8 .
98 kgs 53 yrs.
Tardy
was looking at the 8"10 flow before the creek was released. Happy you meantioned the speed as that's what I'm after...
52 & 98 kegs
yeah man ...you will have to change your style of riding ,compared to the x32 ,but you will notice ,,,oh sheet i made it around that section ,
and you find your self stalling the board or cutting back into the pocket more ...as you can out run it sometimes .
they are also better on winder days as the x32 do have very thick rails and are effected more by wind .
I've kept my 8'8 as i like it in small step waves ...its as loose as a goose...plus I'm a collector ....
5 surf sups now.![]()
enjoy your new stick ...they look great .

Awesome Dave.... please check back in after you get some time on it.
I am very interested to hear how different people experience the "Creek"
