Not much of a question. What do you want to know?
I have this Speeed model and know it but don't know anything about the fanatic.
What is your experience, weight and the conditions you will surf in?
I am 80kg and the Speeed is good in fat conditions but also finds another gear when conditions pick up. I think the smaller you can go the better. I had a 7'11" Speeed and while harder work to paddle it was amazing on a wave.
Sunova boards are well made and durable. If you can try before you buy then you would have a better answer to your question.
With these open questions we all have our opinions luckily. So what is good for you may not suit other people. So should keep that in mind when you are checking internet reviews because later when you experience that product in real life you will have a different perception.
I pay for my boards. The best surfer is whoever is having the most fun. Keep cool, stand back and enjoy life.
Like wise i own two sunova speeds and have never surfed the fanatic stubby. i am 100 kg and surf a 9,2 speed and 8,10 speed
great boards and very durable extremely light weight for carrying good pull out handle which helps holding the board instead of bailing it out behind you.
Great board the Speeed, I've the 8'10 and want a go on the 8'8 maybe 8'5.. let me know how you get on.
STC's all over the Speeed, maybe he's been on an 8'5..
Not exactly the specs you asked about but close. I have an 8'10" Speeed, and compared it to an 8'6" Fanatic Stubby. The stability was similar, as was the surfing performance. I felt that the longer outline on the Speeed gave more speed both in paddling and on the wave, without any downside tradeoffs, so that was my choice.
Not sure if I'm hijacking or expanding, anyone have experience with the shorter end of the range the 7'6" etc?
Exactly what is the question????
Sorry should have put more details in question looking at getting a smaller board currently on a a 8'6" sunova skate 135 lts and tossing up between the speed or the stubby and just after any info on both boards probably leaning toward the speed but conserned about the width for stability but the stubby has less volume but is wider so wondering which would be more stable

Einstein said look at outline shape !!! This will determine how you wanna surf and where you want to b on the face !!!! Ya cant force the speed !!!
