Hi everyone, i'm Matteo.
I'm a sup newbie and i'm searching for the first board. I'm 175cm and 83Kg. I would like an all-round board especially for training in flat-water but enjoy it also with small wave. I've found two alternative.
- a new Naish Nalu 11'4;
- and an used Starboard Element 9'8;

What do you think? What it should be best for me?

Thanks
Matteo

Hi Matteo, my first board was an Element, still have it share it with my wife. She uses it for flat water I use it in the surf. A great all rounder, that does surf really well. My only gripe was that it had too much volume for my 65 kg In larger surf. Build quality is very good ,ours is the heavier AST construction. You don't need a super long board to have fun in the flat water but you need it to float you well. It's the board I lend to friends and most cope well on it. See if you can get a demo. Have no experience of the 11'4" Nalu but understand it is the more stable design in that range. Good luck and happy paddling.
