Hi Paddlers,

Welcome any views or experience with the following inflatable boards:
Starboard Astro drive fun version 10'5"x30"x4" (192L) V Fanatic Fly Air Allround blue version 10'0"x33"x4.5" (190L)

I need a light weight inflato for travelling, and understand it will be very different to a surfing a hardboard. Not worried about flatwater, either board will be fine for that.

1) What are the boards like for stiffness and surfing? I have seen the youtube clips of the smaller fun versions of the Astro converse and wide point, they both look pretty good for stiffness, just wondering how the 2 longer board above are for stiffness?

2) What is the weight of the Fanatic? the Starboard is only 8.6kg.

3) How robust are the backpacks?

4) Are the pumps interchangeable between fanatic and starboard (we have another Fanatic inflato)?

5) What are the boards like for surfing with a 11 year old child on the front?

Thanks for any info you can share

Both will be very similar in weight. The Fanatic is wider so will be a touch heavier.

The rigidity of the boards will be the same if they are the same thickness and pumped to the same pressure. Probably will feel more flex than on a shorter one though.

Yes the pumps can be used on either.

Both bags are OK, ours are holding up well. The 2015 Fanatic bag looks better built than the 2014 one.

Can't answer the last one sorry.
