I've got a 7'11 and weigh just under 80kg. I find the 7'11 to be significantly more stable than my PSH 8'9 "narrow" Ripper. And it's a bit more stable than a 8'6 Wide Ripper I had before getting on the 28.25" width, 8'9.

I like how how turny the board is and the wide nose gives it extra stability and forgiving take offs. But I don't enjoy the board on smaller gutless waves. It just seems to stall out and the board feels slow. And even on some bigger waves I feel like I'm having to work harder to make a section. But the payoff is in the stability and laser quick (for a stando) turns. I was surfing some overhead wave east coast hurricane waves (US) last fall and my cousin said he liked my style more on the 7'11 than on my other boards. I was apparently breaking the fins loose and looking more dynamic. On a wave with a bit more push, I definitely enjoy the board but for my typical US East Coast mush I'll grab another board.

I assume the Rush will be significantly easier to stand on but if you've surfed SUPs in the 9' range and are looking to downsize, the 7'11 should be enough board.
