Hi
Looking at buying a new 11'2" blend brushed carbon, been riding a 11'2" 32" wide sunjam, I want it for flat water bay paddling 90% and 10% for riding a long bay surf 2 to 3 feet when it's on, appreciate your views

Use to ride a Blend and loved it! Still reckon its a great board. Surfs well, glides well and gets you anywhere.
I had the 2008/9. Pretty sure the new ones have been improved.

I had a Blend too a while back and it was a fun board for sure. With your 90% flat water and just 10% bay surf, the Blend is close enough to the best all rounder shape you'd want; maybe the Cruiser being the other option from Starboard you could consider. It's longer with better glide for your flat water paddling.

However, I'm wondering why you don't consider a 12'6" race board. They're much more user friendly in flat water and if you choose a BOP capable shape, you will also find them plenty of fun in long bay surf.
