Hi, I'm looking to get into SUP and am after my first board for small surf and a bit of flat water paddling. One board that I'm considering is the Starboard Blend 11'2 x 30 but I'm confused about what changes have been made to this model over the years.

For example, one site lists a 2011 model as $100 cheaper than a 2012 model. Is there a physical difference?

Any help greatly appreciated

thanks

-Mick

I may stand corrected here - but as far as I know there have only been 2 Blend shapes. I had the first one in, I think 2010 and it was called an "ultimate blend" - it was one of the best starboards ever made IMO. It had a narrower nose and a kinda square/squash tail and quite a nice rocker for an 11+ sup.
The model then changed to a "blend" where they widened the nose and put a pin/round tail on it. As far as I know there have only been cosmetic changes to the "blend" and no shape tweeks.
The blend is an insane board for up to a out 95kgs and cruises and surfs very well. Of all the 11-11.6 boards Ive ridden its hands down the best.

thanks Billboard. Good to know. I'm not even sure why I've narrowed in on the Blend, but it the first time I saw it, I thought that it was a good board. I'm 100Kg, but don't mind paddling a bit harder. I had a go on a Naish Nalu 10'6.5 which seemed just a bit small - still managed to catch a few waves though :) so I reckon the size is about right.
