As you may have read below I am looking for a new SUP to start on. I was after peoples opinions on the Blend. From what I have seen most people that have them like them. How do you guys rate them in terms of an all rounder for a guy thats 6'2 and 85-90kgs. Will mostly use for flat water small surf.
Also have any of you tried the blue touch grip that starboard do and what are your thoughts?

Cheers Rhyno

The Blend is a nice all round board for your dimensions and what you looking to do. I had one until recently. Nice in small waves, good for a long paddle as well. Not bad in larger surf but not ideal either. The Star Touch grip is very effective IMO. I have it on my 9'8' and no problems with grip.

Hi the blend is a nice shape that surfs really nicely for such a long board.
However if you are keen on doing allot of surfing I would recommend going straight to the 10'5" drive, if you just want to use it on small days and do allot of flat water paddling the blend works well.

For an 11'+ board the blend is fantastic. Its a very nice board to paddle and surfs very longboardy (is that a word) Hard to go past in the over 11' range IMO. As for the startouch/bluetouch or whatever its now called I personally hate it ! Yeah its plenty grippy but I like soft grip on a sup as its way more comfortable to stand for extended periods and its nice if you have to kneel at any stage and it will protect you to a certain degree if you fall on the board or the board falls on you. Plus if you ever take a passenger (kid, dog, missus) they will love a sup with grip on it.

Hey guys thanks for all the advice have ordered the blend in blue touch and cant wait to try it out. I figure if it does get to hard to stand on for long periods I can always get a deck grip for it.

Thanks again for your advice
