Hey Tim,
Yep I have that board and run C-Drive twins with a Large thruster center.... I found the C-Drives definitely livened the board up. Took that set-up to Bali on some good size juice and it handled it really well too.... Its a winner I reckon. I would recommend the oversized Twin set on a long sup to make sure the back doesn't spit out on you... I'm also running a quad set of C-drives on my 8'5 Allwave and it can get a bit slippery.... (not that I am complaining!) ![]()

I'll flick a photo through later...
Thanks, photo would be great.I can borrow a set of CD twins, plus I have a 5 inch center which may work
cheers
Hi Tim,
This is my setup on my Stylelord.... and the quad setup on my Allwave. The pics prob don't show much.... should get the boards out with more room. Anyway, I reckon they work great....

C-Drives are the ultimate fin. If you are skilled at your craft .. They are the ONLY fin. I have tried all the others.

I see on your Allwave you used a quad setup. I used the thruster setup on my Allwave and found it was like surfing with a handbrake on.
I solved that by putting a fcs2 USbox fin in the centre, its a lot thinner when looking front on than the C-drive, and then actually found the board faster. I also found they had heaps of hold but seemed to be at the expense of looseness.
I bought a pair of Quabbas as well but have not tried them out yet so can't compare for a couple of months at least yet unfortunately.![]()

Hi Bob.. yeah I tried the Allwave as a thruster (with standard fins) and really didnt like it at all.... seemed sluggish like you have said. So I have always had it as a quad after that. I've had the C-drives in for about a year and I really do find it loose and fast.... for a start it was too fast and kept scooting out from under me!!.
I reckon the Quobbas will go good in this boards shape too.... hopefully you can get back in the water soon to give them a go!
Emeboy cranking it on his C-Drive'n Stylelord @ LSR Bali

Looking like a goofy footed Casso there.

Have you tried the quobba's?
Tried the C drives (XL and L centre) found to be stiff, then later the Quobba (L sides and 7 inch centre) once at speed and trimming the board Quobba were fast and moveable.
Must admit in both cases the waves were sub-optimal so as winter progresses will swap between, need a a lot more time on both as quite different.
