Im going to the states in late June then home via a few weeks in Hawaii. Very interested in looking/finding out more about the Sim Sup boards with a view of purchasing one and bringing home via Hawaii!!! They seem to have a good wrap from those that own one.
Wondering what sort of conditions suit the boards most. Surf mostly beach breaks at home with 2-4' mushy waves generally. Any information/advice would be greatly appreciated.
email the guy, i spoke to him a while back, very informative.
they are pretty price competitive!
sic looking boards.
Kirk is very helpful, did the same thing a few years back. Emailed him & organized a board to purchase. Used it for a while in Santa Cruz then got him to freight it back to Aus.
its still my favourite board & will definitely be purchasing another one when this one dies.
cheers
i'd go with his ST model. with a wide tail, having a bit of a fish shape seems to help. i have another Simmons-shaped board with a straight edge tail and it just doesn't have the grip on bigger waves that the ST has. great boards; i've had my ST for over 2 years now and still haven't found anything better. and no damage either.
I presently own two L41 ST's, an 8'0" and 8'4". These boards are heaps of fun when the waves are small or conditions are complete crap. I find they can feel a bit out of control when the surf gets into the overhead range, probably due to the wide tail. The boards are extremely well built and can take a beating. A great addition to any quiver.
