Hey all,
Looking to buy my partner a fibreglass SUP for Christmas but I'm limiting myself to only second-hand/ex-demo/clearance models. The good news is that he doesn't really know what he wants either, just that he enjoys my 10'6" x 31.9" x 5.9" inflatable SUP and he wants a fibreglass for himself, I assume to be able to paddle it a bit easier (and also look cooler, let's be real).
He is 75kg x 6'2", I'd be happy to class him as an intermediate for flat water and beginner for surfing. He will probably be mostly doing flat water paddling in the bay but has said he will like a board that is also okay for learning to surf on. With my budget, I'm happy to go for more of an allrounder that can be used to learn to surf small waves, and if he gets into surfing he is welcome to upgrade himself lol. With this in mind I've been thinking 9'8"-11', 30-32", 135-170L. I think a 2+1 fin setup would be ideal especially if the side fins are removable for flat water paddling. Though my favourite marketplace find so far is unfortunately a single fin and that is the only thing that has held me back really.
Some current options that look good from marketplace currently are:
Waterborn simplicity 10'
NSP coco cruise 9'8" (my fave but only a single fin)
Adventure all rounder 9'8"
I couldn't find any other measurements (particularly wondering about the volume) for the simplicity if anyone knows them! Wondering if anyone has any experience with these for a similar weight/height and if you think any of them might be more suitable over the other.
