if your talking about the new epoxy scout 9 4" its pretty much a c4 sub vector in design which probably means it'll go like a bat out of hell !!!!!! so really good for those epic waves only a stones throw away from good old park

I am new to SUP - only 3 weeks experience (about 10 times on water with 5 sessions in small surf) however a lot of surf experience including windsurfing and the last 10 years in Kitesurfing. But I needed an Autumn sport that I like and to help keep fit. I am about 78kg, 5' 8" and not young.

I had the opportunity at ESS over two days to try many boards plus prior to this I did a lot of research and spoke to a few SUPers. ESS provide excellent instruction and coaching plus have a large selection of boards and paddles to try.

My choice at the end of day 1 was the Naish Mana 95 however by the end of day 2 I chose the Oxbow 9.4.

Reasons for my choice - stability IMO was similar even though the Naish Mana 95 is wider and bigger volume it has more tail rocker and as such harder to paddle in a straight line for me. The Oxbow has tail rocker but less than the Naish.

Now after catching a few waves the Oxbow is fine, turns ok and I expect it will get better as I gain experience.

I've had the 9'4" scout now for most of this summer and absolutely love it! Surfs everything from ankle biters right through to overhead reasonably well. My weight varies between 69kg - 75kg (depending on the beer intake!) have come off the 10'6" pilot as I wanted something that was a bit more dynamic but didn't want to sacrifice paddle ability! This board can get you from spot X to spot Z without any problems, and turns quite well as long as your over the fins and engage your rail, the only drawback with this board for me personally is that every time I surf it, I get into really big trouble from my wife for being late home!!!! I have tried heaps of boards over the last few years and IMO this board does it all, it's not a rocket ship pro model super star, just a great value for money, virtually indestructible SUP that you can paddle down the river or surf your local break. It will transform you from intermediate to advanced in a matter of waves!!!! If your 100kg advanced rider this board will absolutely fly!!!
