Oh SNAP Dave!... nearly identical to my 9'2 Mini Stylelord... Currently under guard at the Nationals at Phillip Island and then coming back up to me with a mate......

Looks equally as good as mine, I am not far from the Island so I should go and test her out for you?? What dimensions are your beauty?
9'2"x 29.5"x 4 @120l.... The strip with your name in Japanese really sets your board off.... so cool!
So nice of you to offer to give her a spin for me...
.
Fingers crossed I should have her by the 11th November. Scotty is getting it to Perth and I am shipping from there across the Nullarbor.

Hey Emboy, has your mate dropped yours off yet or is he riding it up to you one wave at a time?
Time to get excited, its in Perth and heading to a truck leaving tomorrow, should have her by Thursday/Friday.
Yep its real, I should clarify, it's time for me to get excited about it arriving!

I think you should be getting excited
pretty sure the SA border is closed to all WA traffic due to a pay back tactic for being closed for so many years ,![]()
enjoy Dave ,I hope you've got a new spot in the shed for it .but I'm sure it will spend more time in the surf ,
get the rail tape ready and a plug string here she comes ,

No border closures for our trucks they get through Mad Max style! No shed just under house racks, the Mana will move over for the Smik and it will retire for a bit. Rail tape and hex pads already here waiting to be installed.
Justaddwater must have called Perth, LOL, board missed Tuesdays truck!!! Luckily made the truck today although I nearly had kittens when I was sent these pics of her safely in the truck!!!!
I have been assured its a Mezzanine floor above the box, ![]()

mines still on the water somewhere !still it's closer than it was 4 months ago![]()
I'll get the truck to stop off at Noosa for you and you can test it out?
Thanks mate it would be on a whole different level compared to the hire boards
,I reckon you are on the right track, going the longboard version,IMO,and from reports they love a bit of juice as well, not long now !![]()
It's finally arrived home, slow trucks, torrential rain and wind and grid locked traffic all tried to stop me getting here. It will be some time before she gets wet as the forecast is not looking good but I am very happy with the end result!

Looks amazing Dave ,stoked for you
,mines about 2weeks away!By the way Noosa's in the midst of a 5 day devil wind pattern, might get the last two days in the water if I'm lucky, still it's offshore at the caf? ,and 5 o'clock, tends to arrive early most nights![]()

At least you are in Noosa which is the main thing, drinks at the Surf Club are good all day!
Surf club eh! Should I mention your name ,for a good seat ?![]()
Give it a go it's hard to get as eat sometimes! Just rail taped both sides and some Hex pads up the nose for potential hang five attempts!
Great to hear ! to many ridding longboard sups ,and NOT noseriding IMO ,I have made a mental commitment to concentrating on being more smooth in my surfing and not over surfing from the back end,it's why I have chosen the style lord,as you can surf them a lot more forward/ mid board, and not have to be over the tail like the hipster twin ! I have heard the weather is pretty crap down there, so it may be a while before the maiden paddle ,I'm hanging out to hear how she goes !![]()

Yep it is going to be more than a week before there is any chance of getting wet unfortunately. **** conditions all around. I'm with you on more casual surfing.

Looks great Dave, and the curse of the new board strikes, crap surf
still I look forward to hearing how the board goes.
Steve.
I love your Bonza DaveSandan , it's truly magnificent !!
This outline and round pine tail are amazing !!
What are the dimensions and exact volume ?
Hi Fatben,
she's a 9'5 x 32 and 140lt volume and I just weighed it without fins but fully rail taped and with Hex pads, 10KG.
Good looking stick Dave ..i bet your hanging to get that in the water .![]()

Thats an understatement to say the least, I added Hex Pads up the nose and across the top of the pad to help protect it from paddle attacks?

Thanks Dave!!
I can't wait to read your feedback!!
I currently have a custom Hipster Twin in 9'10 x 33' and ordered a Style Lord Custom a few weeks ago which should be 10'2 x 32'5 but really your Bonza would be the type of board I think ideal in a while to complete my quiver and continue my progress...
Good news, there is one day of good weather and smallish surf and it was a dawn this morning so I got the maiden voyage.
I have gone from a 190lt Naish Mana 10x33 to my new board 140lt 9.5 x 32 so I was not sure how much difference there would be, I have a JL Sidewinder 14x27 but its no comparison. First off it started as a glassy session then 30 min in a onshore wind came up, stability was really good forward and back but it took 15 min to get side to side adjusted. The chop was not good but it could not buck me off but severe backwash got me once. So all in all it was an adjustment but better than expected. I got a video of one long wave but Vimeo is not liking me at the moment so I can't load but to say it turns so much better is an understatement.
The concaves single to double work a treat on the wave and it is fast as it got away from me a few times and it made drops on waves that the mana would have bombed on, the Lord Bonza made it but at times I did not keep up as I was learning how it moves.
I am still to find the sweet spot for take off, I has over the handle or slightly back from it but will need to adjust depending on the conditions. The tail sinks a lot more than I am use to but in big chop it makes stability better so really happy there.
Today was a quick session as I has to go to work and I live an hour from the surf so a bigger session will make life easier. Once I get use to the board it is going to be great fun to ride, very happy and it will make me a better surfer, turning the mana was ok but this is so much sharper and smoother/easier to change direction.

Nice Dave, I can see the "need" for a Bonza
Hope the video gods allow you to upload soon, and you get some more wave time too.
Steve.
