Well, I went and spent some pocket money today and the quiver is pretty well complete. I've had a plan to buy a 8' carbon vex for awhile now, stepping down from the 32" wide evoke chasing a bit more performance to re-live the past short board days.
I was also planning to buy a new platinum paddle after I stupidly drove over my last a few weeks ago after leaving it under the truck at then beach and turning it into a 3 piece.
Oh well the new paddle will have to wait as I couldn't resist the sale price for the 10' runway and picked one up for a bit of soul surfing in the slower days.
Thanks Tim for all your help and also to the boys at "the surfboard warehouse" tweed store today for another easy purchase of some great products.
Cheers Geoff
YEW!
Sorry, I'm not geeky enough to post the picture the right way up. YEW sideway!!!!
Looks like a cool combo yt04! Have the 8.0 Vex myself, good fun and wouldn't mind the Runway, but when is enough , enough! Maybe in the
case of surf craft , NEVER! Enjoy.
Hi yt04 congrats on great looking quiver . I've been looking at both boards lately but 8'6 in vex. My board I'm on now is 8'6 x31x4 1/4 so think this should be good step down in width.i haven't seen anyone on these boards in my surf breaks so have been reluctant to buy without checking out quality .i have three boys which all sup but at moment we don't all have a board and can't afford 2k each for board so these are looking like good option if quality there . I have older mana big chunky rails but fun for kids & 2 deeps 8'3 & 8'6 great boards but have had heaps of use I bought both second hand and had them for years but they starting to get bit tired (dings).im going to Queensland soon so am going to check out Mooloolaba warehouse . I weigh in at 84 kegs so think the 10' noserider should be fun and on Tims video looks to perform awesome.Evoke look great too but think I'm ready for less width so recon the 8'6 x29 1/4 be good fit . My sons 8'3 is 28 3/4 x 4 3/16 is great board but I need good conditions to enjoy can be harder when chop comes up.lookforward to reviews from ya on your new weapons .Enjoy Calbs ![]()
When is enough enough? Hmmmm... I purchased another board today to take it to 6. There are 7 days in a week....
Good work smash. I've been thinking of getting a runway for awhile and your post re yours confirmed for me. I'm sitting on 3 boards plus another 10' er that's the wifes board. Lucky I had a spare paddle to allow the runway purchase but I'll have to get one down the track and probably pretty soon. Really happy with both boards and the quality is spot on.
Excellent. Raid the piggy bank and grab a Venom while they are on special. A truely amazing board. My mates and I now have 6 of them between us![]()
Thanks for sharing the stoke. The boys at the shop should sponsor you to the tune of a discounted paddle.
Can't wait for my Venom to come.
Showed by wife an upright 11'2 board a few days ago. Told her Venom was 12 foot and she lost it. "where are you going to keep that !!!! "

"on your side of the bed" is the appropriate answer!!! Even in the flesh, its hard to believe that they are actually 12' long. If you take it out in the surf, don't fear getting your back foot on the tail pad - it turns like a short board if you go hard enough.
....and no, I'm not sponsored by them..................but I have sent a lot of business their way and picked up 4 boards from them last week.....Hint Hint Hint

Nah, all good Wavelength. I had an older model paddle still in the shed and will save up for another platinum and get one later on.
Those 2 boards are my 6th and 7th from the company and just a happy customer. I planned to buy the vex but couldn't resist the runway at that sale price. Why not, the quality is first grade, right up there with best and I got 2 brand new boards for $1700, where I'd be lucky to buy 1 of the "big name" boards for that price. Win win win I reckon!!
I had a 10.5 Waterborn a couple of years back and it was tops, like new when I sold it to step down. I'd think about another but they just don't make them small enough for me... I'd like to see one under 100 litres...
I wish Loz, but I like food too much. I have got off my ar*e and lost 7 kgs over the last couple of months. I'm hovering round 88 now and hoping to get down to low 80's. I can't remember the last time I was this weight but I'll get there.
That's great to hear.. I'm in the low 70s, my everyday board is 92 litres but I'd like to trim some more off this next time around...I have a 10 footer around the 125 tho and it's a heap of fun, great to get back on a sup with some glide after being on the shorty for a few weeks...
I would have to agree with you regarding quality of build, I have a couple of Warehouse boards and I cant see the difference! I imagine as with a lot of things
it depends on quality control at factory end. I think that I read that they have a team on the ground at point of manufacture. And no, I have no affiliation with them, but its great to be able to buy a good product at a great price! Also they surf ok., which is even more important!
That runaway 10' look nice and I wish it's free shipping for that price ; )
there is a near new one for sale on Seabreeze in Victoria.....................no excuse now!! get the wallet out
