Here is the new Surf Fx quad fin set from Shapers.
There are two sizes, Medium and Large.
Large is designed around boards like the 8'10 Starboard wide point and 8'8 JP Surf wide etc.
The Medium size is for smaller boards. Large size is equivalent to a S9,S3 set and the medium is S7,S3. Rears are symmetrical.
Do they come in futures base as well ?
Not at the moment RR
Looks good.... How much $$ ?
$129 per set but ask for the Seabreezers price!
I have just recently fitted Shapers S7 quads to my Fanatic 9'6 pro wave (Futures) and love them. I really noticed the difference when paddling for a wave as the board tracks straighter and they allow beautiful carving turns. You can really feel the flex in the fins as opposed the very stiff stock fins. I also noticed more drive in different situations where I might have used the paddle into the next section the fins seem to take over. Funny how changing fins can radically change a board so much.
Our new Shapers Thruster set has just arrived. These baby's are good for 8.0' to 9.0' boards.
Check them out. (ps. shot on an Iphone so excuse the quality)

are they much different to the jc01 carbon flare shapers quads?
Loz
The Large set is the same as the Jackson set, the Medium set has slightly smaller fronts - same rears.
Cheers
any chance I can buy the quad fins for the surf fx or Jackson close fins singly - have broken one of the front fins of the Jackson close set on a rock , lost one of the surf fx front fins on a reef ![]()

Sorry TD, we can do pairs no problem though. Give us a call if you want some.

great thanks for that , luckily the surf FX and Jackson close are the same size so a pair will do the job
John, just picked up a JP 9.2 Surf today - super sweet! Do you recommend the thruster set for it or something else?
JustBernie,
If you want your board to be more 'shortboard' in feel then the thruster set is excellent. If you are after more of a map feel with deeper, slower turns then look at Shapers 6" thruster set. Its has a nice 6" centre and the side fins from the KS (Kelly Slater-ish).
Here are some pics of the New thrusters compared to the FCS M7
Hey John,
What would you recommend for a Naish 8'8" x32 LE in waist to head high shorebreak waves? I'm 5'11" and 82 kgs.
Also, are your fins available in Southern California; or will you ship?
hey SoCal,
The Surf FX Quad set (L) is perfect for the 8'8 X32. As a thruster setup the FX setup may be a bit small for the width of your board. A good setup would be something like the FCS HI set. They are a little bigger and would have a bit more drive.
Cheers
Hi John,
What would you recommend for a Starboard Blend (11'2x30) for mushy 1-3 foot waves and longboard style/nose riding?
Original Starboard fins busted chipped and cracked.
Cheers
