Hi Guys,
Just got an LE Nalu and am wondering what others have tried in the fin department?
Particularly interested to know what quad set have been used and how'd they go?
Can you include sizes please, base x height, thanks.
Cheers,
Ken.
Hey KennyK,
Stoked you went with the Nalu LE, still my favourite board.
Fins. Here's a few setups that I have found worked well for me.
- Fuller, more longbording style waves. Thruster Setup. Rear FCS Ignition 7.25" with GX Thrusters. This set up allows for a very smooth and stable ride. The board is still amazingly maneuverable, but doesn't break free as easily in powerful snaps. This was initially the first setup I used and what I imagined would be my favourite setup, however this has changed.
- Fast waves, more shortboard style waves. Quad setup. FCS MF-1 Fronts and GX Trailers. This set up was very loose and low drag. The board amazed me at how well it still nose rode with such small fins. Very easy to break the tail free on powerful turns.
- My Favourite setup, now used 100% of the time. Quad Setup. FCS HI-1 quad set. Power, speed, amazing hold for nose riding, feels to be just the perfect size for the board, works in small to big surf, fat to hollow. Highly recommend for progressive Longboard riding.
Enjoy Kenny, setups 1 or 3 work amazing, setup 2 is good, but was a little small for me.

Thanks fer that JB, What weight are you mate? It will have a bearing on the size of the fins that suit you.
If I know your weight then I can take that into consideration when considering using your set ups.
I have seen the HI set and thought they could be a bit big for me at 80 kgs, your second setup may work better for me?
Thanks,
Ken.
