11 ' Nalu GT ..is it best as a single or a tri fin ? Only for
small waves ,I like the 11'4 as a single .I guess if you have a face it wouldn't slide down the face ,or hold a better line .
it's new ...tomorrow .
for bigger waves maybe 3 fins
small wave 1 fin ...guess ,what the norm.?

I run a 6.5' Db cutaway dolphin fin in the middle, and stock sides on my 10'6. Changed the way it rides completely, love it!

As a rule of thumb:
- single fin have better glide and hold when the board is flat on the water surface
- multiple fins helps when you dig a rail (a single fin progressively lose its hold when the board is banked)

Also, as the wave gains power, a single fin can "foil" (the lift it generates is away from the hull and generate a torque). Some people like it, as they play with it to push on it in the turns, other do not like the stiff feeling in the tail. And for noseriding, the tail can be lifted out of the wave and a big single will keep holding, but you will slide with smaller fins...

Good post - I'm also interested in putting a couple of thrusters in my 11'4".

Ah..that's why I like the 11.4 as a single ..the 2015 comes with a 9" rear fin ,and putting the two side fins on ..it just feels like too much fin to me .
this could loosen things up ,good move and .idea ..for the 11'

Thanks colas ...explains it ..I don't nose ride ,more interest in big turns ,I ride on the tail .only walk up when I need speed .
i would have to say I like the stiffness in the tail ..so maybe the 11' might stay as a single .looking forward to trying it out .mercy.
