Hi
Anyone out there been riding this board with a quality thruster set up? I've been riding mine as a quad (Scarfini HX3 Bamboo).Thinking about setting up as a thruster, any suggestions on fins?
Thanks

I ride mine as a thruster with Jackson Close fins. Personally I prefer this set up to quad as it frees the board up and turns on a dime.

How far up did u fit the back fin? Just looking at a set of Lopez thrusters with tool less fitting system, had any experience with that system?

I just switched from the stock thruster to Lopez quads. I like the quad setup so far, let me know how the Lopez thrusters work

Hey Nede , did the board feel slower with the thruster set up? I was thinking of getting the Jackson Close 5 fin pack to keep my options open.

I have ridden it as a quad and thruster and for me the thruster set up feels better, seems to free up the board. I do think the quad does produce more speed I guess it depends on the type of waves your riding most of the time and how you choose to surf it. Definately fun experimenting and that fin set gives you some options.

Tried it out as a thruster and I am a fan, board works much better with 3 fins than as a quad.

Turns on a dime,.Doesn't feel bogged down on tight turns.
The only down side was it felt a bit less stable .

What size centre fin are you using Paul, I am running an FCS 6 1/2 on my 7/10 X32 but thinking of dropping down to something slightly small.

Tried it with the standard 61/2 inch Naish fin all the way up ,then tried a 5 inch centre fin in the same spot.Just ordered Shapers Performa 5 1/2 inch .Think this might be a good size for me.
I liked both set ups better than the quad.

My mates got the 8'3 and he is 80 kg. He's looking at the Jackson Close thruster set which has a centre fin under 5 inches.
