Hi all

Currently own a Nalu 11'6" & have been thinking about trading it for either the 11'4" nalu or 11'2" blend. I like the 11'6" & can surf it fine. Just starting to find it a bit corky being 5.5 thick. Want to keep a good flat water paddler & good longboard surfer. Has anybody out there ridden both? Oh & I'm talking about the newest models of both boards.

Decisions, decisions.

Both terrific for what you want, I couldn't split them. But I'd also try out the SB Drive at 10'5", it will still be plenty long enough to feel like a longboard surfer. Do you have an opportunity to demo these boards?

Hi Woody.

Don't really have the time to demo them. I agree that they are very similar on paper but hoping somebody out there has had some experience on both. I'm positive it will be one of these 2 though. I also ride a Starboard Widepoint 9'5" so I want something thats completely different. I want this board to stay above the 11' foot long mark. I've seen a couple of people on line that have had the Nalu snap. I'm hoping that it was just bad luck & not a design flaw.

I've paddled both and I like the 11'4" better.. It surfs waaaaay better than the big 11'6".

The Naish also has that great new handle.. and the AST is a very good price.

Andy Davies did so well at the Corona in Merimbula last Nov and you should have seen him on his 11'4"... Amazing.

Nothing wrong with the 11'2" Blend either.

This is Andy and his GF and they're both on 11'4"s.. She's on the new AST.

Thanx David.

After much agonising & deliberation, I've just ordered the Blend. Just get the feeling Starboard is starting to get the edge over Naish. Plus it will look great in the rack next to the Widepoint. :-)

Thanx for the posts everybody.

Yeeew!!!

Yeah.. I think Starboard are catching up to Naish.. .. and it's always good to have matching brands on the same rack..

I have owned both boards and can comfortably say that the starboard is WAY more stable, paddles WAY better - and in surf up to head high surfs WAY better.
I went from an 11.6 nalu to the 11.4 and it was a change I always regretted - even as a.lightweight I loved surfing the 11.6 and got talked into the 11.4 for better performance in average waves that I surf, but I hated the 11.4 and traded it on a blend 2wks later. The blend was 500% better in every way.
