This is awesome.. We are finally starting to see a bit of interest around these boards. Unfortunately they have lacked a little publicity and exposure to date but hopefully that is all about to change!!! These are potentially the best performance surf SUP that Naish have ever done. They are super versatile and will quite easily handle the bigger guys among us that want that performance. They are stable yet retain all the performance characteristics of the good old faithful Hokua. Alltough this boards will still ride and perform well on the points and the more mellow waves, They are well and truly at home on the beachy's. In typical Naish form, they have a rail that is unmatched by anyone else (personal opinion) and a workable deck area that will seriously blow your mind. When needed you can get right up and pump the nose and then comfortably transition straight back to the tail as quick as needed. For the short boarders among us, the stand out trait of not just these but any Naish board is the ability to pretty much commit and take off on rail with little consequence. If you are a heavy back foot surfer that loves getting into the thick of things be it, beachy or shorey, this is the board for you... I'm lucky enough to have access to a massive range of boards from a number of different suppliers and I love em all BUT, this board is the true stand out!!! If you haven't had the chance, you really need to get to your local dealer ASAP and check this weapon out!!!

now ya tell me ,i bought a raptor ,
only thing i don't like about it..... is the length ,tends to get lost in chop when paddling out ,
once on the wave though ...yeeha.
A 8 foot raptor,would be cool .

Is the Maddog that good .

95 kgs .
the 8,6 might of fitted the bill ,but went with the 128 RAPTOR.rated for 95kg dudes.
its awful in choppy conditions to paddle ,but on a smooth small day it rips .
the moves I've done on it I thought never possible on a SUP.
MY other board is a 8'1o mana .@133 litres.

thinking i might sell the raptor .for a longer board .??

you really have to paddle hard to catch the swell.maybe I'm just a heavy loaf.and lack technique .

The biggest stand out to the MADDOG especially over the raptor is the paddle speed. Because of how the raptor carrys its width it just wont paddle that quick. The MADDOG @ 8'6" defiantly doesn't have that problem and doesn't feel like a 121L board. It feels much bigger in regards to stability but much smaller when it comes to performance. The bst thing to do is get down to your local shop and demand a demo hahaha. You will love it...

I'm interested in a serious appraisal of how these boards go, so can you please go easy on the hype? I thought this forum was for people riding boards to swap ideas and discuss things, not for dealers to send in unsolicited promotions.

Rossall-

Na I didn't buddy but I have ridden one a few times . To be honest I didn't like the x32 at all . The Maddog does feel a bit like it tho with that kinda corky feel when just standing out back .. But I'm convinced it's just cause it's so lite and kinda gets pushed around a bit with the water moving..

Ive actually tweaked my back from paddling it all last week /. It does rip tho
